Teller Post 003

Hello lovely people,

An update from the beautifully sunny Rajasthan...

Am on the home stretch now which feels strange but also very exciting! Only a few weeks to go.

I am immensely proud of the women, they take on each challenge with so much energy and enthusiasm and it has been great to see their skills and sewing confidence develop!

There have been a few set backs - the government demonetising half the currency overnight has made things pretty tricky - I currently have around 70p and the city I'm in is out of money....at first you could queue for an hour or so for the daily £20 limit but now we are just waiting for the city to get a cash injection.... fingers crossed it happens soon!

Also very sadly the specialist bag maker I was working with passed away suddenly a few days back. His son was being trained up and we have decided to pause on these products to make sure we can give the work to his son when he is ready to work again as they are a big family with now a very limited source of income.

A bit of happier news, I am working with a great stylist from Mumbai on the lookbook so will be soon be relocating to the big crazy city to get some pictures taken! Have spent the last few hours looking through model cards and choosing the first Teller model... quite surreal.

On the business front, although the initial plan was to work on stock to sell immediately, you can put your purses away for a short while as I've decided to focus on the wholesale route; making a full collection to first sell to shops and private sales for pre orders. These will be made early next year and it allows for stronger overall growth. This being said there will still be a few special pieces and accessories which will be available almost immediately, am working on the website and I will let you lovely lot be the first to see it.

I also want to say thank you for your support so far, it really, really means a lot!
